President Obama

January 21, 2009

I didn’t watch today’s inauguration but I’m pretty sure it was similar to a red carpet affair similar to the Oscars, Grammys or the Teen Choice Awards 8). To be honest with I am pretty sick of the unfair treatment the media has been pouring on President Obama. The Messiah-like comparisons are getting old. The “he can do no wrong” reporting is just plain lame. How can this man live up to the expectations of the American media? I feel as if they are setting the President up for a big fail, just as the past Presidents. I will be praying for our leader. I hope you will be too.

Peace Out W!

January 19, 2009

Unlike many, I like President Bush. I voted for him 2 times (so did over 100 millions others) and I really think he was the man for the job for the 8 years he served. I’m not only going to miss his bottom line take on things but his inability to communicate effectively. One thing the incoming President does at least a little better than W is communicate. We’ll see about the rest.

My favorite Bushism: “Too many good docs are getting out of business. Too many OB/GYNs aren’t able to practice their love with women all across this country.” Any way, heres to you Mr. President. Thanks for 8 years of quality service!

Have you ever wondered?

January 16, 2009

If you were to dig straight through the earth where you would end up? I have. Jupiter, Florida to the Austrailian coast. Interesting. I always thought it would be China 🙂

This week….

January 16, 2009

Ok, so this week has been a little off the chain. It has covered pretty much every area of life: family, ministry, relationship with God. This week our church had a Monday through Wednesday fast. It never fails, whenever I participate in this odd things happen. Coincidence? I think not. It started with the dealing of a student/family conflict, a student/mother in a car crash that I happened to be in traffic next to, a student having a severe seizure in the middle of a campus club I participate in, the lies and deception of a certain student and then the dreaded call from my Mom that Dad has been admitted to the hospital. I believe that the Lord has used the craziness of this week to remind me that He is in control. He is involved, even in the smallest ways (so we think small). I feel blessed. Thank you Lord for being involved.

Many are the plans in a man’s heart,

but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails.

Athletes and facial hair.

January 12, 2009

Great list here, the worst facial hair in pro sports. My personal favorite is Scott Pollard, journeyman, backup forward. Any one you can think of that may be missing? How about Rollie Fingers?
