Thanksgiving week

November 29, 2008

I have been with the family in the mountains of North Carolina all week just chillin’ and enjoying down time. We have reconnected with Penny’s family, old friends and have explored a lot. The weather has been pretty perfect and the views from our cabin are amazing. How was your Thanksgiving?

It’s been a long time! Enjoy.

Time out!

November 20, 2008

Penny, I and the boys are meeting the family in western North Carolina for a little Thanksgiving getaway. Penny’s family lives up there so it will be a sort of family reunion. we are really looking forward to this as it will be our first family vacation with our sons. Roman is so excited to go climb a mountain with Daddy and Jadon doesn’t really know what to think. We leave Sunday after church and return the following Sunday. I must admit, I’m ready. we have been hitting Jupiter hard since school began in August. It’s time for a much needed break.

Back in the top 25, for now.

My Hurricanes football has been quite interesting this season. From 5-7 last year to 7-3 and a possible birth in the ACC Championship this year. Pretty amazing considering 31 freshman have contributed thus far. You can watch the Baby Canes this Thursday PM on ESPN. Very enjoyable. GO CANES!!

Another busy week, Another cool front.

November 16, 2008

Today will close out (or begin, depending how you determine your weeks beginning or end) another crazy photo-356busy week in my life. From going to our summer camp location to shoot a promo video or taking a bunch of students to a music fest or wrestling with my boys on the floor of their room, this week has been another busy chapter in my life. Today I have another ridiculously full day (church, post-dedication celebration at a family friends house and then an ordination installment at another local church). With all of the busy-ness and lack of family quality time I look forward to enjoying some crisp south Florida fall weather for a few days. Highs in the 60’s lows in the 50’s. Nice.

Quote of the Day

November 10, 2008

“Give Obama his due: It is an exceptional politician who can win the support of Louis Farrakhan, leader of the Nation of Islam, and Kenneth Duberstein, former chief of staff to President Reagan; of William Ayers, an unrepentant terrorist and Christopher Buckley, son of William F. Buckley, founder of modern conservatism; of Rashid Khalidi, an Israel-hater, and Edgar Bronfman, former head of the World Jewish Congress. Here’s a not-very-bold prediction: A year from now, someone is going to be sorely disappointed.”

3 years aready?

November 10, 2008

A little more than 3 years ago I started blogging. 3,000 comments and 900 posts later, Life & Times is still photo-137kickin’. I have met a lot of new friends in this community and I look forward to many more connections. I wonder how long blogging will be a valid place of life journaling? I plan on sticking to it for awhile, will you join me?

Quick trip

November 8, 2008

A good friend from church took some guys to Eleuthera, Bahamas on Thursday/Friday. It was a very quick picture-41trip but a good time. We spear fished around the coral heads of the island. I had a couple of interesting encounters. First with a 4-5 foot lemon shark, then with a 3-4 foot nurse shark and most interesting a freaky looking eel with fangs. I tried to shoot it with my spear after asking our guide if it was eatable. The spear bounced right off of it’s thick skin. Eleuthera really is a beautiful place as it has some high places with rolling hills and some sweet white and pink sand beaches. It was a needed little getaway, I definitely had the batteries re-charged. Check out some more pictures here.

I don’t know what to think of this. Kind of interesting concept.
